The revolutionary Hollywood Me Too campaign has reached Pakistan where actor and singer Meesha Shafi has allegedly accused popular singer Ali Zafar of sexual harassment.
She said she shared stage many a times with him, but this type of sexual assaulting was never expected at this age, when I am a mother of two kids. But now I candidly say that a women can be harassed sexually at any age irrespective of whether she is married or not.
Actor broke her silence and took this issue to the social media site and shared an elaborate post accusing Zafar of sexually harassing her on more than one occasion. Actor says this encounter has to be brought into light, so that experience will empower other women to stand up for themselves and speak about such encounters. . It is not easy to speak out.. but it is harder to stay silent. My conscience will not allow it anymore.
