On Wednesday, Gujarat High Court dismissed a PIL against Kedarnath directed by Abhishek Kapoor was seeking a ban on the film was a big relief for the makers and the cast.

The PIL filed against the film suggested that the film shows the love between a Hindu girl and a Muslim boy belonging to the Pithu community which hurt the religious sentiments of the Hindus.
The court also called it a publicity stunt by the petitioner. Kedarnath, starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan in lead roles, is all set to be released on December 7, that is, tomorrow.

The PIL filed against the film suggested that it hurts the religious sentiments of Hindus but the division bench led by Acting Chief, Justice A S Dave and Justice Biren Vaishnav dismissed any such claims made in the petition. The petitioner, Prakash Rajput who is the president of the International Hindu Sena, said that kissing scenes are featured at a revered site like Kedarnath which, again, hurt the religious sentiments.

Coming down heavily on the petitioner, the court not just called his petition a publicity stunt but also imposed a fine on him of Rs. 5,000.
