2019 has truly been a phenomenal year for the box office after Avengers: Endgame shocked us with its massive collection of Rs 373.22 crore. The tradition of watching movies on the big screen, is not going to die anytime soon. After seeing the horrific collection of figures at the top grossers of 2019’s first half:

Uri: The Surgical Strike – Rs 245.36 crore

Bharat – Rs 210.68 crore

Kabir Singh – Rs 206.48 crore

Kesari – Rs 154.41 crore

Total Dhamaal – Rs 154.23 crore

Gully Boy – Rs 140.25 crore

De De Pyaar De – Rs 103.62 crore

Luka Chuppi – Rs 94.75 crore

Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi – Rs 92.19 crore

Badla – Rs 87.99 crore

Kalank – Rs 80.35 crore

Student of the Year 2 – Rs 69.11 crore

Together, films have collected a towering Rs 2012.64 crore, which clearly suggests that the emergence of OTT platforms has had a negligible effect on the box office.
