Ace badminton player PV Sindhu becomes the first-ever Indian badminton player to beat familiar rival Nozomi Okuhara of Japan in a lop-sided finals, on Sunday. The 24-year old Indian shuttler won 21-7 21-7 in the summit clash that lasted for just about 38 minutes. Definitely a huge victory for PV Sindhu who represented India in its truest spirit of patriotism.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan joined the millions of people to wish the ‘Golden girl’ of the moment – PV Sindhu. Taking up to Instagram, Aishwarya posted a picture of her and Aaradhya posing with PV Sindhu and captioned it saying, “CONGRATULATIONS dearest P V Sindhu our World ChampionSo SO PROUD of YOU GOD BLESS Always JAI HIND”.
Meanwhile, in interaction with a daily, PV Sindhu opened up on her unexpected win stating, “Honestly, I was expecting a long battle, given Okuhara’s reputation. But, I am glad that I could peak at the right time and never really let the lead slip away.”
