Like any other aspirant Hazel Keech too had high hopes when she debuted with a big film Bodyguard(2011) opposite Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, however her acting career didn’t speed up and was left with few item numbers post Bodyguard.
Hazel who is happily married to Yuvraj Singh had an exclusive interview with Hindustan Times who spoke about length about her shortlived acting Career felt lamented after on point in time.
“For me, it was frustrating coming to Bollywood, growing up in a very Hindu-traditional Indian household with a British father and trying to convince people that I am Indian after being judged by my name and accent”, confessed the actress further stating that thankfully things are changing todayfor the good as she added, “In my years in India, I have seen Bollywood change from having certain requirements like knowing classical dance and speaking Hindi to having none of those matter anymore. Women don’t even need to be Indian anymore. Today we have leading actresses from different nationalities as well as from India”.
Hazel also mentioned “As an actor, I want to do projects that interest me in terms of the story and role. When I commit to anything, I give it my 100 percent time and energy so I don’t compromise on the work I do”, she said in the same interview.
Here is a good news, Hazel is making her come back after a gap of 8 years with Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan’s debut directorial play, Euripide’s Medea.
Revealing about her experience working with this young lady Hazel said, “She is young and has seen a lot for her age. She understands the complexities of the characters and their dynamics. It’s impressive to see her so sure of herself and what she wants.”
